Tammy Krings

Seven practical ways to assess your leadership health, effectiveness and provide insights on making positive changes for a healthier and more impactful leader lifestyle.

Self-Reflection and Journaling:

Regularly journal about your experiences, challenges, and successes as a leader.  Reflect on your interactions, communication, and decisions.  This practice will help you gain valuable insights into your leadership style, allowing you to identify areas for improvement and celebrate your achievements.

This is still my #1 practice. If I can pause, reflect and journal even for 7 minutes a day, it changes the outlook and dynamic of my day!  It’s the easiest, fastest and most profound way to engage with your leadership health daily.

Seek Honest Feedback:

Invite candid feedback from your team members, peers, and superiors. Constructive criticism is a valuable tool for growth.  Be clear about your goals and where you need feedback. Being too broad invites in feedback that may detract from your purpose in requesting more feedback in order to grow. Say what you mean and ask for what you need.

Embrace feedback as a catalyst for positive change and an opportunity to refine your skills.

360-Degree Assessments:

Engage in formal 360-degree assessments where you receive feedback from multiple angles – your team, peers, supervisors, and even yourself.  These assessments provide a comprehensive view of your leadership strengths and areas for development. Use the insights gained to tailor your growth strategies.

4

Stay curious and committed to learning. Attend workshops, conferences, and seminars focused on leadership and facilitation skills. Seek podcasts and publications that provide quick read articles to keep you sharp, relevant and pushing your ways of thinking.

Embrace Continuous Learning:

Coach and Mentor Others:

Leadership is a journey of constant evolution.

Assess the dynamics within your team to gauge your effectiveness as a facilitator and team trainer.
